Pelling is west district town of Sikkim. Pelling is nestled at an altitude of 2,150 m (7,200 feet). The town is located at a distance of10 km from the district headquarters of Geyzing. A regular bus service connect the two towns. However with the influx of tourists, the region is undergoing a metamorphosis, with the roads being repaired and hotels being set up .

The mighty Himalayas and the Kanchenjunga may viewed at close quarters from Pelling. Pelling also forms the base from where trekkers and other peripatetic adventurers undertake the strenuous and arduous treks in west Sikkim. The land around Pelling is still a virgin territory and is bathed with alpine vegetation,with numerous waterfalls lining the hillside. In the months of winter, Pelling is sometimes covered with a blanket of snow. It offers appropriate sites for mountain biking, rock climbing, Village tours, meditations, educational studies and many more.

By Air: The nearest Airport Bagdogra (145km )is directly connected with Kolkata, Delhi and Guwahati by all major Airlines.

By Rail: Nearest railway stations are Siliguri (133 km)/ New Jalpaiguri (152 km ) Where NJP is directy connected by rail to all the major places in India .

Rimbi Water Falls

Rimbi Water Falls : About 12 km away from Pelling Water Falls is spectacular in summer that attract many waterfalls lovers. Located on the way to Khechopalri and Yuksam, near Darap Village and is famous for activities like fishing.

Rimbi Power Project : The power station by name Karchen Power House is the oldest in west Sikkim which was made in early 70’s during the last king’s government which successfully supplied energy to the most villages and towns of west Sikkim including Gazing ,Tigjuck and Pelling.

Rock Garden

Rock Garden : Rock Garden developed by the tourism department of Sikkim ,richly maintained with rocks, gardens, pools, zigzag foot paths and interesting recreation amenities like swimming yard viewpoints and cafeteria. Very big in size and equally attractive through out the year and has become one of the popular picnic spots.

Khangchendzonga Water Falls

Khangchendzonga Water Falls : About 28 km from Pelling and about 18km, further than Rimbi and 5km before Yuksam is Khangchendzonga waterfalls which is situated at a sharp curve on the th road side. The falls being very big in size and equally attractive throughout the year, it has become one of the leading tourist spots in west Sikkim.

Khecheopalri Wishing Lake:

Khecheopalri Wishing Lake: About 28km from Pelling at a height of about 6000ft is Khecheopalri Lake which is the most holy and wish fulfilling .

Pemayangtse Monastery

Pemayangtse Monastery :About 2kms from Pelling, you can visit the principal monastery belonging to Ngingma sect(one the four sects of Tibetan Buddhism ) which was built in the year 1705 AD. One of the first and few oldest monastery in Sikkim ,it was built by Gylwa Lhatsun Namkha Jigme .

Rabdentse Palace

Rabdentse Palace: About 3km from Pelling and few minutes walk further down from Pemayangtse Monastery are the Rabdentse ruins the 2nd capital of Sikkim founded by the 2nd Chogyal of Sikkim Tensung Namgyal in the year 1670.

Yukom & Richen Pong

Yukom : The first capital of Sikkim the Chogyal was consecrated by the three holy monks in 1642 AD. It is the base camp for trekking to Dzongri region.

Richen Pong : A picturesque village, a circular trek could help you explore the area. The Resum monastery is another landmark while a trespass at an ancient heritage house could add more thrill. The area also offers a magnificent view of the Kanchenjunga range
