Gangtok rose to prominence as a popular Buddhist pilgrimage site after the construction of the Enchey Monastery in 1840. In 1894, the ruling Sikkimese Chogyal, Thutob Namgyal, transferred the capital to Gangtok. In the early 20th century, Gangtok became a major stopover on the trade route between Lhasa in Tibet and cities such as Kolkata (then Calcutta) in British India. In 1975, after the integration with the union of India, Gangtok was made India’s 22nd state capital.
The meaning of the name “Gangtok” is unclear, though the most popular meaning is “hill top”.Today, Gangtok is a centre of Tibetan Buddhist culture and learning, with the presence of several monasteries, religious educational institutions, and centres for Tibetology

Your Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 01 : NJP Railway Station /IXB Airport to Gangtok:
Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway station /IXB Airport & driven to Gangtok (130 km. /4 hrs.). Overnight at Gangtok
Day 02: Gangtok- Half Day sightseeing
After breakfast proceed on half day city tour, visit Rumtek Monastery, Do-Dul chorten, Shanti view point, Research Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft s hand-loom & flower show. Overnight at Gangtok.
Day 03 : Gangtok (HD Sightseeing):
After quick breakfast, proceed on a half day trip to Tsomgo Lake 12,400 ft.), 34 km from Gangtok city & Baba Harbhajan singh Memorial. Tsomgo lake freezes completely during the winter and is much revered by the locals. Overnight Gangtok.
Day 04 : Gangtok to NJP Railway station /IXB Airport (130 km /4 hrs)
Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, check out from hotel transfer to NPJ Station/IXB Airport to board your Flight/ Train for journey with sweet memories.

- Please note that vehicle will not be at disposal it will be available as per itinerary only (point to point basis- Driver & Vehicle May Change for different destinations).
- Permit require for Tsomgo Lake. It is mandatory that guest should carry 04 copies of pass – port size photograph, original photo ID proof with photo copy (identity card – Voter ID card/Pass-port/Driving License etc) for processing the permit.
- Permit also require for traveling to North Sikkim (Lachung &Lachen). Requires 02 more copies of passport size photographs along with original photo ID proof.
- All travelers (including child) must carry during tour: Original ID Address proof (PAN card not valid), child school ID card, 04 to 08 Copy Passport size photos, 02 photocopy of ID. Few places to travel in Sikkim mendatory required permit (ILP)
- As per Gangtok (Sikkim) local traffic rules 7.30 AM to 7.30 PM vehicle not allow ( No Entry) inside Gangtok city. All transfer will provide from stand to stand. So between stand to hotel and to stand has to take small car by tourist directly on spot, which is very easy available in stand.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation before 30 days of start date will be charged processing fee equivalent to INR 3000 per person;
Cancellations between 20 days to 30 days before start date, 35% of tour cost would be charged as retention;
Cancellations between 20 days to 15 days before start date, 50% of tour cost would be charged as retention;
Cancellations made within 15 days of start date, entire tour cost shall be charged as retention;
Bank transaction charges apply on credit card/net banking refunds;
