Bhutan is bordered by China in the north and the by Indian states Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim and West Bengal. Bhuta is smala country in the lap of Himalayas, The stunning natural scenery, the enduring image of the country, strong sense of culture and tradition binds the kingdom and distinguishes it from its larger neighbours. Bhutan is the only Vajrayana Buddhist nation in the world and the profound teachings of this tradition remain well preserved and exert a strong influence in all aspects of life. Due to its pristine environment and harmonious society, the tiny Kingdom of Bhutan has been called “The Last Shangrila.”

Buddhism and Bhutanese way of life is greatly influenced by religion. Most Bhutanese homes hove a special room used for prayers, which is know as Chosum. Hilltop forts and monasteries, snow-capped peaks towering above valleys where colorful prayer flags snap in the breeze, and the fine crafts made by local artisans are just some of the treasures to be discovered in this little-visited country.

Reservation :For all tours the Booking must be completed at 4 weeks in advance but for tours during festivals 8 weeks advance confirmation is required. Festivals held in autumn and spring are the peak time for the tourists and without early reservation it is difficult to confirm flight and hotels.

The national currency of Bhutan is the Ngultrum (Nu.) valued at par with the Indian rupee, which is also used in the country. Visa and American Express cards are accepted in few places, but have a limited use. Travelers cheque as well as US and Hong Kong Dollars, Pound Sterling, French and Swiss Francs, Euro and Japanese yen can be exchanged at local banks and at most hotels.
